01Armor-Shield — Bullet-Resistant Door & Frame System
Level 1 through Level 8 bullet-resisting door and frame system (UL 752). Armor-Shield provides cost-efficient, readily available protection against assault and vandalism at vulnerable openings such as isolated utility buildings, cashier islands, currency exchanges, and box offices. Levels 1–3 use 12-gauge steel doors and frames with welded corners and can optionally be UL fire rated up to 90 minutes with a steel-stiffened core. Levels 4–8 use concealed armor for the best available protection against bullet penetration and fragmentation, up to 7.62mm high-powered military rifles.
Use: public utility buildings, cashier stands, schools and universities, guard shacks, government facilities, police and fire stations
02Blast Resistant Doors & Windows
France Metal Blast Resistant Opening Solutions were developed to meet governmental, military, and embassy safety and security objectives for blast resistance. The Standard Range provides protection up to 7 PSI (48 KPa) for AT/FP applications and high-security buildings; the Mid-Range covers 7–15 PSI (48–103 KPa) for high-security and demanding industrial use such as oil and gas; the Heavy and Extra Heavy Range provide full protection above 15 PSI up to over 30 PSI (103–206+ KPa). Blast-resistant windows provide protection up to 6 PSI (40 KPa). Engineered and manufactured to meet international blast-pressure safety standards, tested to ASTM F2247-03 (doors) and ASTM F1642 (windows).
Use: chemical storage areas, embassies, military facilities, hospitals and oxygen storage areas, laboratories and research areas, government facilities, courthouses, police and fire stations
03Lead Lined Doors and Frames
Achieve effective radiation protection with France Metal's full line of high-quality lead-lined doors and frames, reliably containing radiation in sensitive areas. Lead sheets from 1/32" (0.8mm) to 1/4" (6.4mm) thickness are integrated into the door and frame for strength and vandal resistance, with vertically steel-stiffened doors, standard 1-3/4" (44.5mm) thick doors that accommodate standard hardware, and continuously welded, seamless door edges and lead-lined frames. Combines protection against radiation with the appearance of standard hollow metal products, available fire rated and non-fire rated, in mild or stainless steel.
Use: microwave transmission rooms, airports, defense buildings, military buildings, security environments, X-ray and imaging rooms, medical schools, nuclear power plants
04Acoustical Door Systems
Using the latest lightweight sound-absorbing technology, France Metal's Sound-Tech Xpress acoustical door systems are the noise solution for any facility, from high-STC assemblies for government/military, airports, and performance halls to lower-STC systems for hotels and offices. Systems include door, frame, and approved seal assemblies with a certified label rated STC 46–54, over 30% lighter than most sound doors of equal STC rating, allowing standard-weight hinges. Tested to ASTM E90, ASTM E1332-90, and ASTM E413, and compliant with HMMA 865-03 and SDI 128.
Use: education, entertainment and broadcast facilities, government and military facilities, hospitality, healthcare, commercial offices and conference areas, sports arenas
05Airtight & Gastight Doors
For specialized applications, France Metal offers custom airtight and gastight steel hinged door solutions to meet job-specific requirements, tested and designed to ASTM E283-04. Assemblies maintain controlled air velocities, avoiding excessive dust loading on conventional plant filters, and are tested as a complete assembly — door, frame, and seal — according to the required pressure, location, and seal type.
Use: bio-hazard laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, industrial clean rooms, gas-tight enclosures, water treatment facilities, sewage treatment works, research facilities, hospitals
06Sliding Doors
France Metal provides reliable sliding door solutions that combine design versatility and durability for the ultimate use of space. France Metal fire-rated sliding doors are tested up to 4 hours per BS 476, in door sizes up to 6 meters wide by 6 meters high, with a manually operated overhead sliding mechanism (electrically operated optional) and self-closing operation available for fire-rated doors. Multiple core choices — honeycomb, polyurethane foam, or steel-stiffened — with stainless steel doors available as an option.
Use: warehouses, store rooms, lounges, hospitals
07Attack Resistant Opening
A cost-effective way to harden any opening using School Guard Glass SG5 attack-resistant glazing with SARGENT hardware, tested to withstand a direct forced-entry attack for over 4 minutes per the 5-aa10 standard based on the FBI's Active Shooter Report.
Use: schools, public and private facilities
08Attack Resistant Retrofit Kit
A retrofit kit to replace glazing in existing hollow metal and wood doors with School Guard Glass SG5 attack-resistant glass, in standard or custom sizes, enhancing security and delaying intrusion without replacing the entire door.
Use: upgrading existing doors to a higher security level
09Blast and Hurricane Resistant Assembly
A high-performance opening assembly combining blast resistance with hurricane wind resistance, certified to UFC 4-010-01 and ASTM E2927-12 (Response Categories 1 and 2), and UL certified to hurricane standards including ANSI A250.13 and TAS 201/202/203.
Use: government and military facilities in hurricane-prone regions
10Forced Entry Bullet Resistant (FEBR) Assembly
An advanced protection assembly combining ballistic and forced-entry resistance, third-party tested to U.S. Department of State standard SD-STD-01.01, withstanding up to 60 minutes of simulated mob attack plus resistance to 5.56mm and 7.62mm rounds.
Use: mission-critical buildings, executive offices, guard and control rooms
11Restrictdor — Detention Security System
A detention-grade hollow metal security door system for correctional facilities, with a 2" thick door in 14- or 12-gauge steel and a fully welded 12-gauge frame.
Use: correctional and detention facilities
12Behavioral Healthcare Patient Room Access Door
A hollow metal double-door system giving caretakers or authorized personnel emergency access to a patient's room — the main door functions as a standard in-swing patient room door, while the inner door opens to the corridor for quick, safe access.
Use: hospitals and behavioral healthcare facilities
13EMI-RFI/STC Shielding Assembly
An assembly with a split frame and adjustable perimeter seals that shields sensitive communications from Electromagnetic (EMI) and Radio Frequency (RFI) Interference while providing Sound Transmission Class (STC) noise control, suited to new or retrofit applications.
Use: data centers, healthcare, and government/military facilities
14Flood Resistant Assembly
A dry flood-proofing system designed and tested to keep flood water depths of up to 36" from entering critical buildings, tested to ANSI/FM Approvals 2510-2014, limiting interior water damage.
Use: facilities in flood-risk areas
15Hurricane Resistant Opening
Opening assemblies tested to the wind-load requirements of the IBC and Florida Building Code, certified by independent testing bodies for design pressure, impact resistance, and glazing, with an optional fire-rated impact glazing for exterior use.
